Families Forward Awarded Grant for Security Deposit Loan Program

Redmond, OR. Families Forward, a 501(c)(3) organization affiliated with Housing Works in Redmond, Oregon, has been awarded a 3-year grant of $75,000 by Meyer Memorial Trust for support of an existing rental security deposit loan program that currently serves low-income Central Oregonians. Meyer Memorial Trust is a private foundation that works with and invests in organizations, communities, ideas and efforts that contribute to a flourishing and equitable Oregon. Families Forward is most appreciative of this generous grant, as it has the potential of helping as many as 100 households over the next 3 years.

Security deposit loans are available to Housing Choice Voucher (HCV) holders and people moving into properties owned by Housing Works and managed by EPIC Property Management LLC. Security deposit loans are available on a first-come, first-served basis. Loans range from $200 to $1,200 with a maximum 24-month repayment plan. Families Forward will be receiving $25,000 annually from Meyer Memorial Trust for the next three years.
